Lets be honest, no-one needs photoshop as much as food and water and shelter, they are needs, but you may be interested why you should consider photoshop CS5 more seriously than its previous releases in preperation for its release.
If you’re a design professional, Photoshop CS5 may well prove an essential purchase. It packs a huge amount of functionality into a fairly nimble piece of software, with 250 new features and a whole bag of improvements, CS5 is making big news.

Sure, you could distort objects on earlier versions of Photoshop but it’s never been this easy. Puppet Warp is a new tool which allows you to quickly bend and reshape images by using “virtual push pins” to both constrain and bend pictures in a precise and fluid fashion.
Puppet Warp is one of my favorites additions. Its really is an awesome tool and we have found some great examples of it in use on the CNET site
They decided to Puppet Warp a member of there team. With the main layer selected, choose ‘Edit’ menu . This is where many of the new features live including the magic ‘Puppet Warp’ tool.
Ready For The Puppet Warp Tool
Now you can see Photoshop has placed a mesh grid over the layer inteligently recognising the joints and limbs etc. Of course you can edit the grid by clicking on it and adding virtual push pins. The puppet warp now really comes into its own as you can manipulate the pins and warp the image into any shape or position.

Puppet Warp may be viewed as slightly gimmicky at this point, but i’m sure this tool may prove to become a valuable feature in photoshopping people into postions that lend themselves to various backgrounds.

All i can say is I’m glad i’m not a celebrity, with this tool unleashed onto the press who knows what will happen!
