Initially Photoshop was a great package aimed at photographers. But of course the web has demanded high quality graphics for some time now and now we want to see why its the web designer choice. In CS5 there are over 250 new enhancements, lets take a closer look at the offering in this latest release.
It seems that the CS5 Photoshop really clears all the annoyances any designer has found with previous versions. Its as if they have actually worked with it and suddenly realised how difficult so many parts of it were. I imagine the Macromedia influence has really moved it forward from the Adobe influence. (In my mind Macromedia interfaces are miles better than Adobes.)
One new enhancement from our Photoshop CS5 Review that may capture any designers imagination is the new Drag and drop of files. You can now drag one or more files onto a Photoshop document to place them as layers. I’ve never understood why you couldn’t as it felt the most natural way of working.I beleive this will save me hundreds of hours as its always somewhere in my workflow.

In the past layers were always manipulated with there own opacity setting. In CS5 this doesnt change but it also enables you to select multiple layers and then adjust their opacity or fill simultaneously. That has to make sense.
